Rules for shared apartments

A shared apartment is a community where the rules are established jointly. The responsibility for the shared apartment is based on the principle of joint responsibility. This means that each occupant of the apartment is responsible for its care. If others fail to fulfil their obligations, it does not give you the right to do so.

The shared kitchen, hallway, toilet, bathroom and balcony need to be kept clean. The stove, oven and work surfaces must be cleaned after cooking. Everyone must wash their own dishes. Naturally, everyone only eats their own food kept in the refrigerator.

Avoid disturbing your neighbours. The silent period is from 22.00 to 7.00, during which time the residents must be given night rest. Making noise is not allowed in any time of the day. The tenants are also responsible for ensuring that their guests comply with the rules and respect the peace of others.

Also remember that the room is only intended for a single person, the tenant. A girlfriend or boyfriend cannot live there.

Pets cannot be kept in shared apartments.

It is strictly forbidden to smoke in the apartment. Those who smoke on the balcony must use a container for cigarette ends.

Cleaning instructions for the shared facilities in a shared apartment

Everyone must make sure that the kitchen is clean right after it has been used. Clean the stove and oven (baking sheets and grating). Wash the dishes and wipe the work surfaces with a moist cloth. Sort the waste and take waste to the waste containers located outdoors. Return empty bottles and cans to the shop.

Vacuum the floors in the kitchen, hallway, toilet and bathroom and wipe the floors with a moist mop for instance once a week. The toilet and bathroom fixtures must be cleaned once a week. The floor drains must be cleared of hair and other matter at regular intervals so that the drains will not get clogged.

If the refrigerator has a freezer compartment, the freezer compartment must be melted whenever necessary. Too much ice in the freezer compartment may break the door and influence the temperature in the refrigerator.

If the apartment has a separate freezer, the freezer must be melted at least once in a winter.

If nobody stays in the apartment for example during a summer, the last person to move out must remove the refrigerator power cord from the socket and leave the refrigerator door open.
